Ah, welcome! You have, obviously, reached the web site of the real Xenophilius Lovegood.
...or HAVE you? Question everything.

On Xenophilia.com, the real Quibbler, published seven years before Harry Potter, you will find my long running newsletter concerning strange creatures, odd theories, tooth health, and various other things about which I think everyone should know. Over 10,000 photos and videos. Amazing research awaits!

Harry Potter fans: After you've read the last book, read my alternative Xenophilius Lovegood ending in which I attempt to redeem him. I wish something like this would have appeared at the end of the Deathly Hallows.

Several things about the character of Xenophilius Lovegood don't make sense to me. How could he, even for an instant, not recognize Hermione and Ron at his front door when he lived with their portraits, for example? Rowlings writes him as someone who makes a cowardly and short-sighted decision, yet before this happens in the story, he is depicted differently. It took bravery for Xeno to support Harry Potter in print as he did for a long time. He knew he was putting his daughter at risk by doing so. He had obviously already done the moral math and had made the decision to help the forces of good, to stand up against lies, to fight the Dark Lord.

Xenophilius was a Ravenclaw, so he would be naturally brainy. Discernment comes with intelligence. Xeno has what JKR showed us that Hermione's character lacks: creativity. Adding creativity to intelligence does not give you a bummbling fool, it gives you someone like Albert Einstein.

As creative as he was, when confronted by adversity, he would have come up more alternatives rather than simply giving in to blackmail. I believe in a different view of Xenophilius, which is why I have been writing the Redemption of Xenophilius Lovegood. This also why I'd like to play him in the movies.

Update: March 4, 2009. This is my most recent photo. If you work at TimeWarner, or know someone who can get me the part of Xenophilius in the last two Harry Potter movies, pass the word. For all I know, the part is already cast, but thanks if you can help with this crazy dream of mine!
